April 16: Beginning Genealogy
Begin to solve the mysteries of your ancestors with brief introductions to the U.S. census, online databases (including Ancestry.com), how and what to document (and where to find the documentation), immigration and sample forms.
July 23: Exploring Pennsylvania Genealogy
The general and the specialized resources available for researching genealogy in Pennsylvania. Includes both online and print materials, and also repositories of genealogical and local history which may hold records useful in your search.
August 27: French / Canadian – French Canadian?
Are your ancestors from north of the border? Did they parlez vous Francais at some point? We will explore what resources are available for those of Canadian descent, whether French or English, and what is available to trace back to Europe, or to one of the British Colonies.
October 29: Heritage Societies : DAR, SAR and beyond.
Have you ever looked at the DAR /SAR and thought that you might qualify? Did your ancestors come over on the Mayflower, or are of German or Italian descent? There may be a Heritage Society or Lineage Society for you!
