Frankenstein: A History

Two centuries ago, a Monster was born.  Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley’s Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus was published in 1818, setting off a widespread fascination with the idea that science could create life. Dr. Sandra M. Leonard will speak about how and why Frankenstein was written and what this haunting tale means to us today.  No prior knowledge or reading is needed to enjoy this multimedia lecture and discussion.
